Cabin Air Vent Removal

Post by ATCguy »

Who has the secret trick to remove the cabin vent by your knee so I can pop the clip back into the back of it and it will stay together properly.

It looks like the same vent near the floor. My lower vent was broken about 12 years ago. As I recall it unscrewed but that’s a long time ago for my brain to recall details. Nothing in the maintenance manual?

No. I didn't see anything in the manual. I happen to have another one in my spare parts and it does unscrew but how on earth do you get a hold of it to unscrew it. I tried smashing a rubber ring around it for grip. It's on there and I really don't want to damage it because the clip that fell off the back didn't get lost. I fished it out and it just needs clipped back together but you HAVE to do that from the back. Then there's the issue of screwing it back together. What holds the back from spinning?
