Need help sourcing fuel boost pump

Post by tmpendergrass »

My fuel boost pump is inop and I am having trouble sourcing a replacement one or finding a shop that can overhaul my existing pump.

Part number 135A-81-209.

Would appreciate anyones help in finding somewhere I can source this part.

Thanks

That looks like a Liberty/Discovery Aviation part number. Wondering if there's any information on the pump's name plate identifying the manufacturer? That said, there was a bulletin a few years ago (3 or 4 ish) directing inspection of the connectors on the pump leads. The inspection direction was released soon after a fatal in the Melbourne FL area where the accident report stated something about an inoperative boost pump. I'm assuming your mechanic has verified there's electrical power getting to your pump and the crimped connectors are providing the necessary continuity?

Anyone have a copy of that service bulletin?

Also it’s a Weldon pump and I think you can have them overhaul it or order new from spruce

It seems like you answered your own question. That would appear to be an RH series pump. Good work. Thanks for sharing. This kind of thing will keep the fleet flying. Retail on that pump seems to be a solid $814.00. Here's a link to Weldon's repair station information:

Personally, I'd either send it to Weldon or replace with new. Given its function, I would not consider third party repair, but do check the electricals per the service document first.

Good luck!

We’ve sourced the “motor” part of the pump but not the entire assembly. Hopefully this resolves it.
