Of note...

I remember exploring this when I still owned my XL-2, and was considering selling it. Unfortunately, a non-TCM overhaul of the IOF-240-B5B won't result in a "zero time" engine as far as the FAA is concerned, because the TCM overhaul includes replacement of the FADECs. It won't make a difference for Part 91 operators not being compensated for aircraft operations, but it is a factor in some cases.

That's great to hear! Will you be replacing the XL-2 with something?

I'm curious as to what you're considering. It's always interesting to me when people change airplaines or missions. When I bought my XL-2 I thought I'd never want to own anything else as a primary aircraft... Now I feel that way about my RV-7, but there are many great choices!

Going the old man route a simple Cessna 150/152. Simple maintenance and parts availability. Going to miss the room of the liberty and the speed.

Google "Sparrow Hawk Conversion". I have a bit of time in a 152 Sparrow Hawk. It's a nice conversion but apparently one has to stay on top of the engine case. Better might be the Del Air 150/150 STC for the Cessna 150.

Would you consider anything in the experimental world? You get a lot more for a lot less, in all respects, however pre-purchase inspections are VERY important and your inspector must be very familiar with the type being considered.

It's a seller's market right now. so it's difficult to find "good deals", but I think I understand why you sold your Liberty.
