IOF240 for sale

Post by gulfportflyer »

Hi everyone!

I spotted this (rare?) IOF-240 for sale in Kentwood, Louisiana not too far from where I live. I don’t think the owner knows what he has, as he is suggested converting it to IO from IOF (removing FADEC) and his price is also pretty low. If anyone here is engine shopping this might be helpful for you:

Owner’s name was Earl Tabor 985-229-4314

Hope this helps!

Hmmm... at 1200 TT it's a bit of an unknown. I would want to see the engine logs from new, and take a good look at the jugs and valves. It would also be instructive to know what happened to the airplane it came out of. Was it an XL-2?

Edit: I suspect that motor is somehow related to N572XL, (S/N 57) which appears to have spent time in a couple of training fleets. Perhaps there has been a prop-strike,

Good spot, Seth.
